LARRY LEE - BASS & VOCALS

Larry was a star center for the UCLA Bruins and later spent 18 years in the NFL playing for the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos. He also served as Vice-president of Football Operations for the Lions.

After retiring he decided to return to his childhood passion - music.  Since then he has played with groups like The Ohio Players, Heatwave and Zapp. His "Back in the Day Band" has played at local events like The Urban Wheel Awards, Arts, Beats & Eats, the R&B Jazzfest and River Days and has performed at prestigious venues like The SoundBoard Theatre, Hart Plaza, and several national venues.

In 2006 he was named Urban Funk Bass Player of the Year at the Detroit Music Awards.  Click here for a News Feature about Larry and the band.

BEVERLY THOMPSON - VOCALS

Beverly is a veteran of the music business. She has performed all over the country as a solo artist and as a member of many corporate bands.

She is passionate when she sings and you feel every note. Her vocal abilities allow her to go from Aretha Franklin to Chaka Khan.

KIKO - VOCALS

Kiko has toured with K'Jon and opened for Charlie Wilson and Mike Epps at The Fox Theatre. In 2014 she was nominated for a Detroit Black Music Award as Outstanding R&B Singer.

Kiko has performed at iconic venues like Baker's Keyboard Lounge, Cliff Bells, The Music Hall, and The Fillmore Theatre.

Kiko has also had roles in the stage plays like "My Brother Marvin" and Perilous Times."

JAMES CHANEY - SAX & VOCALS

Mr. Chaney is the most decorated member of the band. He has played with greats such as Tyrone Davis, Little Milton, John Lee Hooker, New Birth, "The Contours", and "The Funk Brothers". His solos are priceless and he can even belt out some Blues vocally.

James is in his 70s but don't tell him because he might just start acting like it.

JOHN JACKSON - VOCALS

John is a former member of Ollie Woodson's Temptations. He is an award-winning performer.

STEVE COOLEY - TRUMPET & VOCALS

Steve Cooley is a trumpeter who has performed with several national acts including The Dramatics. He's a true entertainment veteran.

DAVID BRANDON - DRUMS

David Brandon is a true musician who has graced stages around the world as the drummer for The Temptations, The Dramatics and, currently, The Spinners.

ERIC BOYD - GUITAR & VOCALS

Eric is a Detroit fixture who has graced stages and studios all over the state. He comes from the Ohio Players front man, Leroy (Sugarfoot) Bonner school of licks.

During the course of our show you will hear some of the funkiest grooves coming from this man's guitar. And when he's featured as a soloist, his playing goes up another level from there.

DUWAYNE SMITH - KEYBOARDS & VOCALS

Duwayne is a Big Stage veteran who has played with Michael Henderson and RJ's Latest Arrival.
